My fax is “pending”: what should I do?

Short answer

“Fax pending” is the status of a confirmed fax that has not left yet: it is waiting its turn in the sending queue. It usually goes out one to two minutes after confirmation, a little later at busy times, and the status page refreshes by itself. Do not resend the document unless a failure is shown: you would send the fax twice.

What “pending” means

Two statuses express a wait. “Awaiting confirmation”: you have not confirmed the sending yet. A 55-second countdown comes before the confirmation, then you have three minutes to confirm; after that the request expires and you must confirm again.

“Fax pending”, then “Fax in queue”: the fax is confirmed and waits its turn in the sending queue, before moving on to “Fax being sent” and then “Fax sent successfully”.

How long does the wait last?

One to two minutes in general after confirmation; a little more at busy times, since the fax waits its turn. The status page updates automatically every five seconds: there is no need to reload it. Its link is also emailed to you.

What to do if the fax stays pending

Wait a few minutes without resending the document: a second sending would go out on top of the first. If the wait clearly goes beyond that, write to us from the contact page and include the link to the status page. If a failure is shown (busy line, no answer…), correct the number if needed and send again: a failed fax is not charged.
