Can I receive faxes with MondialFax?

Short answer

No. MondialFax sends faxes but does not receive them and does not assign any numbers. To receive a fax, you need a fax number reserved for you, connected to a fax machine or to a fax-to-email service, which is almost always paid for.

Sending yes, receiving no

MondialFax is a sending service: it does not assign fax numbers and so cannot receive faxes for you. If someone needs to fax you a document, they need a number that belongs to you.

Why receiving is different

Sending only requires outbound access: you dial the recipient's number. Receiving requires a number reserved for you permanently and connected to a device or gateway that can answer the call. That reservation has a cost, which is why receiving is almost always paid for, whereas sending can be free.

Ways to receive faxes

There are three options: a physical fax machine connected to a compatible line; a fax-to-email service, which assigns you a number and forwards each fax you receive to you as a PDF by email; or a solution included in your operator's or phone system's package.

If you only need to receive a one-off document, first ask the sender whether they can email it to you: it is often possible.
