What exactly is free
Sending a one-page fax is free from start to finish: uploading the document, transmitting it to the recipient's number and tracking its status in real time. There is no subscription, no credit to buy and no paid option to “speed up” a send. PDF acknowledgments of receipt are optional, at €2.99 incl. VAT, charged only if the fax is delivered.
For a one-page fax, no payment method is requested, and you never need to create an account. A document of two pages or more is sent for €3.99 incl. VAT: payment is requested when the form is submitted and charged when the send is confirmed.
The limits that apply
Free sending comes with a few simple rules: each send covers one PDF document of up to 100 MB, to one of the seven destinations served (France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Canada). A one-page fax is free and unlimited; from two pages, a send costs €3.99 incl. VAT, whatever the number of pages.
A short countdown precedes each confirmation: it shares out access to the phone lines between users and protects the service against automated sending.
Sending is not receiving
MondialFax sends faxes; it does not receive them. Receiving requires a fax number permanently reserved for one person, which has a cost: that is why reception services are almost all paid for, whereas sending can be free.
